Ian Wright has delivered his verdict on who will win this weekend; Nottingham Forest or Brentford. The pundit has been quizzed on the outcome and Reds supporters will like his answer.

Forest take on the Bees this weekend looking for a third win of the campaign. So far, they’ve claimed maximum points against Sheffield United and Chelsea, drawn with Burnley and lost three matches to Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Positive shoots are starting to show though for Forest. They do look like a team this season and it seems a long time ago that the Reds looked like a disjointed, scared-to-death mess at the start of last season.

Wright predicts Nottingham Forest v Brentford

The man who starred for Arsenal back in the nineties is fond of Forest. He played for the club on loan towards the end of his career, with a hat-trick against Walsall the highlight.

Wright was quizzed on the outcome of the result on the latest episode of Sky Sports show The Overlap. He joined several other pundits to go through the weekend’s games.

Wright thinks home advantage could count for Forest this weekend. He’s backing them to win and thinks it will be a third consecutive defeat for Brentford.

He said on The Overlap: “I’m going to go Forest at home, 3-1, I think 3-1 to Forest. Actually, I will go 2-1 to Forest.”

Forest looking for winning formula against Brentford

It’s hard to be too critical of the Reds given the start to the season. Against Burnley at home in the last City Ground clash, however, Forest did struggle with getting a stranglehold on the game.

That’s the challenge facing Steve Cooper now. He has a brilliant squad – arguably the best for many years – and a winning formula on home soil is something that he must strive for.

Brentford will provide a stern test for Forest. Thomas Frank plays a good brand of football and they will be looking to bounce back after defeats to Everton and Newcastle.

Forest have to be ready this weekend. Anything other than a top performance could see the Reds come unstuck and Cooper will be hoping that isn’t the case.
