Former Nottingham Forest loanee and transfer target Dean Henderson suffered heartbreak on his Crystal Palace debut last night.
Henderson, whom Forest offered £15 million for this summer, limped off just 19 minutes into his debut against his former side Manchester United after a punt upfield saw him pull up with an injury.
The 26-year-old suffered a similar injury against Leicester City in January, which saw him miss the rest of the season before undergoing surgery.
Steve Cooper’s side were interested in re-signing the one-time England international, but after concerns around his fitness the club decided to look elsewhere – a decision that looks to have paid off.

Dean Henderson suffers another injury setback
The Reds were keen on a deal to bring Henderson back to the City Ground.
It was said that Forest were wanting a loan with an obligation to buy, as opposed to a permanent transfer, mainly because of Henderson’s recent injury record.
United and Forest both held firm on their respective stances, so a move never materialised.
Palace instead offered £15 million plus £5 million for the ‘keeper which sealed a deal, taking the former Red to Selhurst Park, despite his good relationship with the Forest supporters.

However, his unfortunate spell with injury continued on his Palace debut last night against his former club Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.
He was forced off with a reported groin injury less than 20 minutes into the clash, being replaced by Sam Johnstone who went on to concede just 60 seconds after coming on.
It’s a sad sight to see such a loved figure amongst Forest struggling with his fitness. Hopefully, his injury isn’t as serious as first feared, so the 26-year-old can return to action – allowing him to showcase the talent he possesses.
