Nottingham Forest would have had to pay a pretty penny to sign Dean Henderson in the summer. The Reds tried to sign the man who spent last season on loan at the City Ground in a permanent deal.
According to The Athletic, Henderson is now the highest-earning player at Crystal Palace. He moved to Selhurst Park on a long-term deal for a fee of £15 million that could rise to £20 million.

Last night, a comeback for the goalkeeper ended in disaster. He suffered a recurrence of the thigh injury that curtailed his loan spell at Forest back in January.
Forest would have paid over the odds for Henderson
The latest reports have explained how much Henderson is now earning at Palace. Forest tried a number of times to land the goalkeeper but they wanted a deal on their terms.
The Reds had serious reservations about his thigh problem. Forest wanted Henderson to undergo a rigorous medical examination and United weren’t keen to sanction that.
It’s been claimed that people behind the scenes were really unsure about Henderson following his injury. As a result, they chose to sign Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos instead.
How much does Henderson earn at Palace?
It’s been claimed that Henderson earns a staggering £100,000-a-week at Palace. He is now the club’s top-earning player and Forest would have had to fork out the same.

Instead, the club did what they haven’t done in the past and showed a savvy approach. Turner and Vlachodimos are both very capable and it makes a refreshing change from a Forest perspective.
Henderson really bought into the ethos at Forest last season. However, the club had to do what they felt was right and given that he’s now suffered a setback, perhaps they made the right call this summer.
