Matt Turner has held his hands up for his mistake as Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Brentford. The Reds were forced to come back from a goal behind with 10 men after Moussa Niakhate saw red for two yellow card offences.
The American goalkeeper wasn’t at his best during the second half of the contest. He looked shaky early on after half-time and perhaps should have given a penalty away in the 52nd minute.

Turner could have done better to prevent Christian Norgaard from opening the scoring. His header wasn’t particularly powerful and he admitted that he should have done better.
Forest goalkeeper Turner holds his hands up for Brentford goal
After the game, it was Forest player Turner who was put up for the press from the dressing room. He wasn’t keen to wash over his error and held his hands up straight away.
He told BBC Sport: “It’s frustrating. We want to be dominant in front of our own fans. It was an individual error by me. I should just catch it. I will work even harder on the training ground.”
Turner couldn’t prevent Norgaard’s tame effort from hitting the back of the net. He seemed to be caught off guard by the effort and it proved a catastrophic few moments for the Reds.
Turner will learn from this mistake
The goalkeeper has been steady since arriving from Arsenal. Turner will learn from this and hopefully, he can improve next weekend if he keeps his place in the team.

Forest have Odysseas Vlachodimos waiting in the wings. As a result, Turner will be very aware that he can’t afford to have too many more occasions like he did in the second half here.
The Greece number one has played in the Champions League and won league titles with Benfica. Now, it will be very interesting to see who Cooper picks for next weekend’s game.
