Guy Moussi has claimed that he was surprised that Nottingham Forest chose not to start Morgan Gibbs-White yesterday. Steve Cooper left him out of his starting eleven as the Reds drew with Brentford 1-1 at the City Ground.
Forest had to come from a goal behind and with a man less to earn a point from the contest. Nicolas Dominguez scored his first goal for the Reds to cancel out Christian Norgaard’s goal.

The exclusion of Gibbs-White from the starting eleven was certainly intriguing. He’s very rarely among the substitutes and he will hope that it doesn’t become a regular occurrence.
Moussi can’t believe Forest left Gibbs-White out
The man who starred for the Reds back when Billy Davies was in charge was at the City Ground yesterday. He’s still a keen follower of Forest and he has been discussing Gibbs-White.
Speaking on the decision to leave him out of the starting eleven, he told the Garibaldi Red Podcast: “I was quite surprised to be fair. I think you can see the difference when he’s on the pitch compared to when he’s not. He’s our magician I would say.
“You have to accept that sometimes he can make mistakes but when you have this type of player anything can happen and you can create something.
“Maybe that’s what we missed in the first half because he wasn’t on the pitch. We needed his magic and we missed it, when he came in it was positively different.”
Gibbs-White will remain integral this season
This was merely a breather for Gibbs-White by the Forest head coach. The forward didn’t get much chance to rest in the summer after helping the England under-21s win the European Championships.

Now, he will hope that he can kick on in the Forest team. The Reds looked like creating chances when Gibbs-White was introduced and he remains so important.
Cooper is a huge fan of Gibbs-White when he’s blowing hot for Forest. As a result, there is absolutely no chance of the player being on the bench on a consistent basis for the Reds.
