Clinton Morrison has delivered his verdict on whether or not Nottingham Forest will survive in the Premier League this season. He’s also spoken highly about Steve Cooper following Sunday’s game against Brentford.

The Reds drew 1-1 with the Bees at the weekend. Nicolas Dominguez equalised after Christian Norgaard had put the visitors in front following a red card for Moussa Niakhate.

Forest were hoping to get back to winning ways on home soil. Instead, it’s now become three games since the Reds last tasted victory and Cooper has some conundrums to crack.

Morrison raves about Cooper and assesses Forest chances

The pundit was covering the game for BBC Sport. He was very impressed with Forest during certain parts of the game and he appears to be a very big fan of Cooper.

The 43-year-old head coach has become a hero at Forest. He’s taken the club from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League in next to no time and his stock is very high.

Morrison doesn’t believe that Forest will be in too much trouble this season. He’s spoken highly of Cooper and delivered a verdict on the team’s survival chances.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I think survival is the main aim but I think they will survive easily.

“I think they’ve added real quality to their squad. I rate the manager highly so I think every year they’re in the Premier League they have to keep kicking on.

“The owner has got high expectations.”

Cooper knows wins must come

Morrison has hit the nail on the head with these comments. Evangelos Marinakis does have high expectations and Forest have to keep climbing the Premier League table.

The Reds have one more game, away at Crystal Palace, before another international break. That will provide another opportunity to take stock and see where they are as a club.

After that break, there will be another run of tough games and Forest have to be ready for these challenges. With Cooper at the helm, however, there is real optimism that a good season can be on the horizon this time around.
