Nottingham Forest supporting commentator Darren Fletcher has told Morgan Gibbs-White to relax. The 23-year-old is yet to get on the goal trail so far this season and was extremely unlucky at the weekend.
Gibbs-White returned to the starting line-up on Saturday as Forest drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace. He was a substitute the week previous as the Reds drew with 10 men against Brentford.

The player is definitely an important player at the City Ground. He’s really taken to life in the Premier League and he will be hoping to get some goals to his name as the season progresses.
Fletcher wants Forest star Gibbs-White to relax
The Reds player has the backing of Steve Cooper. It was easy to see why he took him out of the team last weekend against Brentford but he won’t have to get used to sitting on the bench.
Gibbs-White has now been defended by TNT Sports commentator Fletcher. The Forest-supporting pundit believes that Gibbs-White just simply needs to calm down a little bit.
He told the Garibaldi Red Podcast: “I think he’s a wonderfully talented football but I think Morgan Gibbs-White puts too much pressure on himself to do big things, great things in games because he’s had to.
“You think back to last season it was him or Brennan Johnson that had to win Forest the game – if they didn’t we were struggling. He doesn’t have to do that now.
“He can be part of a team that has matchwinners in it and I hope that he benefits more than anyone else. Gibbs-White can pick his moments and he hasn’t got to put the weight of the world on his shoulders.”
Gibbs-White is quality but he does need to relax a bit
There are worse traits for a player to have and trying hard is what the 23-year-old is all about. However, Fletcher does make some very valid points about Gibbs-White and what he does for Forest going forward.

Gibbs-White is far and away Forest’s best player on a technical level. Now, with lots of other quality performers around him, the pressure should come off him a little bit.
The 23-year-old clearly loves playing and doing well for Forest. It will have hurt him to be left on the bench recently against Brentford and he will now hope to get back to his very best when the domestic action returns.
