Nottingham Forest have had a solid start to the new season under boss Steve Cooper, with many new signings already making an instant impact.

According to FotMob, defender Willy Boly has the Reds’ highest average rating of 7.28, but how do the rest of the Forest squad compare?

Here is the starting XI for the highest average rating of players who have featured three or more times for the Reds in the Premier League so far this season…

Matt Turner – 7.07

The 29-year-old has had a good start to life at the City Ground after his summer arrival, with the former Arsenal man keeping two clean sheets in his first eight Premier League games.

Serge Aurier – 6.97

After his contract extension this summer, Aurier has captained the Reds on multiple occasions – even producing a Man of the Match performance against Sheffield United, where he collected two assists.

Willy Boly – 7.28

As previously mentioned, the 32-year-old has the highest average of any player in the Forest so far this season. He’s taken his performances to the next level, with his £2.85 million from Wolves last summer now looking a real bargain.

Scott McKenna – 7.05

Perhaps a surprise inclusion in the starting XI, but Scott McKenna has the Reds’ fifth-highest average of any player in the squad so far this season, with good performances against Chelsea and Sheffield United boosting his average.

Ola Aina – 6.89

The 26-year-old joined the Reds on a free this summer and has proven to be a brilliant addition despite playing out of position for the vast majority of his time at the club.

Ibrahim Sangare – 6.81

The club-record signing looks to be slowly proving his worth to the Nottingham Forest squad. He’s starting to show off his ball-winning capabilities, with his wide range of passing whilst in possession.

Danilo – 6.82

Although he’s missed the last four games through injury, the Brazilian midfielder enjoyed a good start to the new campaign, picking up where he left off at the end of last season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 6.86

The 22-year-old has had an instant impact to life at the City Ground, scoring on his debut against Burnley. He’s since showcased his ability on the ball with direct dribbling at the opposition – causing problems at every opportunity.

Morgan Gibbs-White – 7.23

The midfielder hasn’t quite reached the levels he achieved last season, but he’s played centrally in the last couple of games, with the Reds’ number 10 showing glimpses of his high levels of performance.

Anthony Elanga – 6.76

Since his arrival at the club, Elanga has brought needed pace into the Forest frontline – causing havoc in the late stages as demonstrated on the opening day against Arsenal. He’s yet to nail down a consistent starting place but has certainly added quality that the Reds desperately needed.

Taiwo Awoniyi – 7.25

Awoniyi, the Reds’ top scorer so far this season, has enjoyed another good spell in front of goal, but his recent injury setback could be a worry to Cooper. Hopefully, he can return from injury after the international break at the peak of his powers once again.
