Lewis McGugan has admitted to being stunned at something that Nottingham Forest defender Serge Aurier did at the weekend. The Reds drew 2-2 with Luton as the Hatters equalised in time added on at the City Ground.
Forest were cruising towards a badly-needed victory on home soil when Chris Wood scored his second goal of the game to make it 2-0. However, Luton roared back and bagged two goals in the final 10 minutes of the contest.

The result leaves Forest without a win in five Premier League matches. Aurier was the captain during Saturday’s clash with both Joe Worrall and Ryan Yates only on the bench.
McGugan can’t believe what Aurier did on Saturday
This wasn’t the best afternoon that Aurier has had on a football pitch. The 30-year-old didn’t look particularly fit and throughout the game, he made several errors.
The worst moment of his afternoon came when he tried to head clear from a free kick and allowed the ball to fly over his head. Chiedozie Ogbene pounced and got Luton back into the game, in a moment that left McGugan scratching his head.
He told The Garibaldi Red Podcast: “I watched it back again this morning, he doesn’t slip and I don’t even know what he’s doing. The ball was that bad and on the second phase we have to be more alive but everyone was so expecting him to clear it. I’m not sure what he was trying to do.”
Aurier has to improve for Forest as they look to kick on
Since checking in at Forest on a free transfer, Aurier has been largely impressive. With that in mind, he will be forgiven for this error – just as long as this kind of thing doesn’t creep in more frequently.

Aurier is a leader within the Forest squad. He’s played for PSG, Tottenham and Villarreal during his career and has a number of Champions League appearances to his name.
The experienced player will hope to improve on this error from the weekend. He will retain the backing from Steve Cooper though and he needs to quickly rediscover his confidence.
