Nottingham Forest B-Team star Joe Gardner has heaped praise on teammate Ben Perry. The Reds player was speaking ahead of tonight’s Premier League International Cup game against Nice.

The B-Team will get the chance to sample the City Ground under the lights this evening. Forest could do with a win the competition after losing to PSV in their first group game.

Gardner was impressive during the recent international break as Forest beat Carlisle in the EFL Trophy. Now, he will be hoping to get another appearance under his belt tonight.

Gardner picks Forest B-Team player as best trainer

The team spirit behind the scenes at Forest does seem very good. Across the board, it would seem as though the Reds are thriving at senior and academy levels.

Gardner teamed up with Josh Powell for an episode of teammates on the club’s official YouTube channel. The Reds utility man was quizzed on who he thought the best trainer in the B-Team was.

He said on YouTube: “I feel like I’m going to have to say, Ben Perry. He’s always switched on and he’s always putting in the work in training.”

Perry and Gardner are two to watch in the B-Team

The future is definitely bright at the City Ground and this year’s B-Team is brimming with quality. With the club now a Category One academy, the team get plenty of opportunities to play in different competitions.

Gardner and Perry are two players who have taken the new competitions for the Forest B-Team in their stride. Both have shown glimpses that they’re ready to be sampling more men’s football in the future.

Forest will know what is best for the two players and right now both Gardner and Perry are playing regular academy football. If Perry really is the hardest trainer in the B-Team, perhaps he’s someone who is already on the radar of Steve Cooper.
