Nottingham Forest winger Josh Bowler seemingly can’t catch a break on the injury front. On Tuesday night he picked up another injury as Cardiff defeated Huddersfield 4-0.
The Reds allowed the tricky performer to join the Bluebirds during the summer transfer window. He will spend the campaign on loan in Wales and has only recently returned from injury.
Bowler has started the last two games for Cardiff and against Huddersfield he claimed an assist after just two minutes. In the second half, however, another niggle came to fruition and he was forced out of the action.
Bowler now has another injury problem
This wouldn’t be ideal for Forest winger Bowler. The 24-year-old has already missed seven matches during 2023/24 and he won’t want to sit out during any more matches this season.

After the game, it was Wales Online who claimed that the player had suffered an injury. They couldn’t offer any further information on what it might be but did mention their concern.
They wrote: “Fizzing with confidence right from the word go, grabbing an early assist for Robinson and going close himself. Looked to have shaken off an early knock as he terrorised the Terriers going forward, but was taken off after going down again on the hour mark. A concern after a brilliant performance.”
Bowler has a point to prove to Forest
The talented player could still have a chance to shine at Forest. However, with the player struggling to stay fit, it will be hard for the powers that be at the City Ground to take a proper look at him.
Bowler is a decent player at Championship level and at 24, he still has time to fulfil his potential. However, the realism is that the longer Forest are in the Premier League the less likely Bowler is to get a shot.
All the player can do is keep performing in the Championship. If he does do that, Forest might feel that they need to give him a go in the top flight, with Steve Cooper a big fan of the player.
