Paul Merson has made his prediction ahead of Nottingham Forest’s trip to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds will be looking for their second away win of the season, after defeating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge back in September – thanks to a goal from Anthony Elanga.
It is no secret that Forest will be facing an extremely tough test on Sunday, against a Liverpool side who have enjoyed a brilliant start to the new campaign.
Former Arsenal man Merson admits that he can’t see Steve Cooper’s side getting anything from the game at Anfield.

Merson’s prediction for Liverpool v Nottingham Forest
In his column with Sportskeeda, the 55-year-old claimed that Liverpool will have too much quality and should claim another three points at Anfield.
“Liverpool should win this one quite comfortably, I think they’ll score a few goals at home to build on their 2-0 win against arch-rivals Everton.
“Jurgen Klopp has an embarrassment of riches up front with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo.
“Between the five of them, they’ll rack up 50 Premier League goals a season even if each of them scores ten over the course of 38 games, which is a very realistic tally considering their start to the season.
“Alexis Mac Allister is a top player too. He’s playing as a No. 6 which isn’t really his usual position, but Liverpool are winning games right now, so it shouldn’t matter, at least until they sign a specialist defensive midfielder.”
Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Can Forest cause an upset?
Cooper’s side have already beaten Chelsea away from home and caused Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United a scare, by going two goals ahead after just four minutes at Old Trafford.
Although a win on Sunday may be unlikely, the Reds have demonstrated their ability to cause an upset against some of the most successful teams in the Premier League.
