Nottingham Forest supporting England cricket icon Stuart Broad has heaped praise on Steve Cooper. The head coach has now been at the City Ground for over two years and his stock continues to rise.

Broad will have much more time to follow the fortunes of Forest these days. In the summer, he announced that his long association with cricket would come to an end with his retirement confirmed.

Yesterday, Cooper oversaw a wonderful win for Forest with Broad watching on. The Reds defeated Aston Villa 2-0 on Trentside, with Ola Aina and Orel Mangala scoring the goals.

Broad loves Nottingham Forest head coach Cooper

He’s not alone with this opinion but Broad is a huge fan of the man currently overseeing Forest’s fortunes. Cooper’s stock is sky-high for all that he’s achieved and hopefully, he will remain at the club for the foreseeable.

Speaking on TalkSPORT this morning (09:00am; 06/11), he said: “He’s awesome, the city loves him. You could see the power of the fans last season when it looked like he might lose his job. The Forest fans take pride in that and the fact that other players come to the City Ground and mention the atmosphere.”

Broad has a new book coming out very soon and he’s currently doing a number of different events to try and promote the publication.

Cooper stock continues to rise

In terms of game-going supporters, the majority are still backing Cooper to succeed at Forest. It would be a terrible decision for Evangelos Marinakis to sack the head coach and hopefully, it won’t come to that.

Broad speaks so highly of the Forest man and he does have some excellent points. Cooper has invested himself in the whole city and he’s bought into the ethos of the club massively.

The challenge for Cooper this season is to kick Forest to a new level. Progessing on last season is the mandatory requirement and it would be nice for the club to survive with ease during 2023/24.
