Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Sunday and the game saw a return to action for Danilo. The youngster hadn’t featured since September when he suffered a hamstring injury at Chelsea.
Now, the talented Brazilian player is on the mend and on Sunday he stepped off the bench. Danilo played the final 20 minutes as Forest saw out a brilliant win against one of the in-form teams.

Danilo signed for Forest in January from Palmeiras. He cost the club £16 million and during the second half of last season, he scored some extremely important goals for the club.
Danilo returns and Forest players react
After returning to action following over two months out, Danilo has received some comments from his Forest teammates. One of those is Orel Mangala and the other is Emmanuel Dennis who is currently out on loan.
Midfielder Danilo took to social media to speak of his pride at being back on the pitch. Mangala was first to respond on Instagram, saying: “Always believe in”, quoting the Spandau Ballet single ‘Gold’, which Reds fans sing about him.
Next up was Dennis. He’s currently on loan with Istanbul Basaksehir. He simply commented: “The boy from Palmeiras.”
Danilo has a fight to get in Steve Cooper’s team
Whilst Danilo has been out injured, Forest have got themselves a settled midfield. Ibrahim Sangare, Nicolas Dominguez and Mangala are all playing pretty well and it’s hard to imagine anyone getting dropped.
Danilo has to be up for the fight of getting his Forest place back. He is a talented player and Cooper does like him but for now, he might have to settle for minutes from the bench.
The season is a long one though and Danilo should get chances when rotating the squad becomes a necessity for Forest. He’s a quality talent in the dressing room and it’s good to see his injury troubles behind him.
