Nottingham Forest handed Odysseas Vlachodimos the chance to start on Sunday for the very first time. His City Ground debut was one to remember and he clearly enjoyed the team’s first goal.
Some footage has emerged and it’s from a camera that was following Vlachodimos. It shows exactly what the player did when Forest took the lead through Ola Aina.
The 29-year-old signed for the Reds in the summer. Vlachodimos cost Forest around £10 million and he’s been forced to wait patiently for a chance to shine.
What Vlachodimos did after Forest first goal
It would have proved a memorable occasion for the Greek performer to play for Forest. He’s the first from Greece to play for the club in the Premier League and the gloves now look like his to lose.

A video has emerged on Twitter courtesy of Forest that shows Vlachodimos doing his thing. Although he came across as a quiet goalkeeper, he can clearly be seen barking orders after the goal he isn’t afraid to have a little celebration.
He turns towards the Trent End and pumps his fists. He’s clearly delighted that his teammates have just got off to a strong start and Vlachodimos appears to enjoy his opening moments in a Forest shirt.
Vlachodimos can star at the City Ground
After yesterday’s game, Darren Fletcher explained that he’s surprised it’s taken Forest so long to play Vlachodimos. And, he’s probably got a point.
Nothing against Matt Turner but Vlachodimos has a wealth of experience. He’s turned out for Stuttgart, Panathinaikos and has also played in the Champions League for Benfica.
Vlachodimos now has a real chance to star for Forest. The season is still in its early stages and the Greece number one will hope to really cement his place between the posts.
The Reds got themselves a bit of a bargain with their new goalkeeper. Now, Forest fans will hope that Vlachodimos has plenty more reasons to be cheerful in the future after his passionate celebration at the weekend.
