Nottingham Forest are set to sign Fluminense defender Nino and at the weekend he was in fine form. His current club beat Boca Juniors in the final of the Copa Libertadores to get their hands on the trophy.
Nino is set to embark on a European adventure with Forest. He will head to the City Ground after he’s played in the Club World Cup for Fluminense and he will cost the club around £6 million.
The Reds have a number of central defenders but Nino does look like he could prove a very useful addition at Forest. He’s big and strong and normally operates on the right-hand side of a central defensive unit.
Nino praised after heroic performance
At the weekend, Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte praised Nino ahead of his Forest move. He was named the team’s fourth-best player on the night and received a large amount of praise.

The piece wrote: “A monster. Good interceptions, always safe in the boats, he blocked several shots at the end and still knew how to beat the Argentines, causing Fabra to be sent off when Fluminense was one down.”
Nino will join a number of Brazilian players in place at the City Ground when he does sign. Felipe, Danilo, Andrey Santos and Murillo are all currently in Steve Cooper’s squad.
Nino looks an intriguing Forest signing
Clearly, the club are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to sign South American talents. It’s also been claimed recently that Marcos Leonardo remains on the radar of Forest and they could move once Nino has signed.
At 26-years-old, the player has some untapped potential. Nino will hope that by moving to Europe with Forest he can become an even better player.
Earlier this week, the player was called into the Brazil squad. That means that the club are signing him at a decent point in his career and hopefully Nino can be successful with Forest.
