Nottingham Forest were beaten 3-2 by West Ham United this afternoon and Don Goodman raved about Odysseas Vlachodimos. The moment of magic from the goalkeeper came in the 87th minute.

The Greek goalkeeper made a superb save to prevent West Ham from going in front. He was powerless to stop Tomas Soucek from netting the winning goal a couple of moments later, however.

Vlachodimos was making his first appearance on the road for Forest. This save offered a glimpse of what is to come from him and he was largely steady throughout the contest.

Goodman raves about Forest star Vlachodimos

During the 87th minute of the contest, following the brilliant save, Goodman said live on Sky Sports: “Just look at this. What a save by Vlachodimos. It’s absolutely incredible from the goalkeeper.”

Vlachodimos will be disappointed to concede three goals as any goalkeeper would be. The player is looking like a really good signing for the Reds and he will now hope to keep the gloves for the long-term as the season progresses.

Vlachodimos magic moment proves worthless

It’s hard not to have some sympathy for Vlachodimos after today’s game against West Ham. His brilliant save deserved to preserve his team a point but it simply wasn’t to be.

The Reds are improving on the road in terms of performances but in terms of results, it’s still not happening for the club.

Forest will have to keep fighting on the road and Vlachodimos will be a big part of that. They do have some very winnable games on the horizon and hopefully, the Reds can put some more daylight between them and the bottom three very soon.
