Nottingham Forest could now use Gustavo Scarpa to smooth through a deal to sign Nino. The Reds are hoping to sign the Copa Libertadores winner during the January transfer window.
Now, Forest are looking at other ways they can get the deal over the line. It was anticipated that a deal of around £6 million was in the offing but other clubs are also interested.
Nino has just helped Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores recently. He played a starring role as they defeated Boca Juniors and he now wants to play for the club in the Club World Cup.
Forest to offer Scarpa in deal for Nino
It looks for all the world as though Scarpa will be leaving Forest permanently in the near future. Despite being called ‘fantastic’ by Ian Wright last season, he’s not really made the grade in Europe.

According to The Mirror, Forest are now willing to include Scarpa in a deal to snare Nino. Things do look to be progressing nicely over this deal but the Reds might be able to kill two birds with one stone.
Scarpa won’t play for Forest again. Right now, he’s struggling to get into the Olympiacos team and he could be willing to head back to Brazil once the transfer window reopens.
Scarpa the right player at the wrong time for Forest
Sadly for Scarpa, he always found better players in his position at Forest. With that in mind, he was feeding off scraps in terms of chances at the City Ground and he finished the season injured.
The 29-year-old failed to register a single-goal contribution during his time at the City Ground. Scarpa did come across as a likeable character, however, and fans will undoubtedly wish him well.
The priority right now is to get Nino over the line at Forest. A central defender looks like being a priority and hopefully, a deal can be struck that sees Scarpa go in the opposite direction.
