Nottingham Forest are putting their South American contacts to good use once again and they’re now plotting a move for Piero Quispe. The number 10 is on the radar at a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

Quispe currently plays for Universitario in the Peru top-flight but he could soon be on the move to Europe. It’s been claimed now that several Premier League clubs – including Forest – have sent proposals through to the player’s current club.

Forest want Quispe

The Reds will definitely be in the market for another forward player once the transfer window reopens. It’s one area where the team looks particularly light and Quispe has been on the radar of Forest previously.

Now, it’s claimed by Todo Sport that Forest are in the mix to sign Quispe, alongside Brighton and Brentford who have also been scouting the player intensely.

The report explains the type of player that Quispe is. They say: “Quispe is called the wonder boy. Wonder kid, that’s what they call him and mention him as one of the most promising wonder boys. The good foot reminds us of Nolberto Solano.”

Forest would welcome another attacker

Ever since Callum Hudson-Odoi picked up an injury, the Reds have looked light in attack. Anthony Elanga has come into the team and that has left the bench lacking attacking options.

Despite that, Chris Wood and Divock Origi did return to action on Sunday at West Ham. Still, both players might not be at the club next season and there’s no harm in planning for the future.

Quispe looks as though he could be an intriguing player for the Forest ranks. Despite his tender years, he’s scored six goals and claimed two assists during the 2022/23 campaign.

Much like Brandon Aguilera and Braian Ojeda in the past, Quispe would have to prove himself at Forest. Given that he’s a number 10, however, he’d probably prove a welcome addition if the club can get him over the line.
