Odysseas Vlachodimos produced another sensational performance against France last night, as Greece drew 2-2 with Didier Deschamps’s side.

The 29-year-old, who has become Steve Cooper’s number one in recent weeks, made many crucial saves to keep his nation in the game.

Although he conceded twice, Vlachodimos can keep his head held high after another brilliant display for Greece.

Hopefully, the former Benfica shot-stopper can replicate his good form for Forest upon the return of the Premier League this weekend.

His form has allowed his nation to compete in the play-offs for a place at the European Championships next summer, despite missing out on automatic qualification.

Last night alone, the 29-year-old made five saves against some of the best talent in world football – helping his side clinch a deserved point.

His save from Antoine Griezmann’s superb effort was the pick of the bunch, as Greece held the 2018 World Cup winners.

Forest’s number one going forward?

After his solid international performance once again last night, Vlachodimos certainly deserves his chance to continue as Cooper’s number one.

Given his experience and pedigree, he won’t be content on warming the Reds’ substitutes bench – with his performance last night backing up the point that he’s too good to be a bench warmer.

Hopefully, given his recent displays Cooper will continue to utilise Vlachodimos after the international break.
