Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane have delivered their verdicts on Nottingham Forest’s survival chances this season.

Steve Cooper’s side currently sit in 14th place, eight points clear of Sheffield United in the Premier League’s relegation zone.

The Reds finished 16th last season, with Cooper’s side securing survival in the penultimate game after defeating Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal 1-0 at the City Ground.

However, after another busy summer, the Forest board and fanbase are expecting a much better season with a top-half finish the aim.

“I think [Nottingham] Forest will be fine this season”, Keane said.

Carragher also predicted Forest to be fine, with Everton also to survive despite their recent 10-point deduction.

“Everton will stay up, Forest will stay up. Fulham will be fine.”

Home form the key once again

So far this season, Cooper’s side have won three times, twice at home with one away win coming against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds were 2-1 up at the London Stadium with 30 minutes remaining, with Forest going on to lose 3-2 after goals from Thomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen.

They must improve their away form if they are to build on last season’s finish, however, the club should be more than comfortable in the Premier League this season.
