Brighton might have pulled a fast one on Nottingham Forest with two star players now back in training.

It was claimed by one journalist earlier this week that Kaoru Mitoma might miss this weekend’s game.

Now, some footage has emerged that appears to show the player heading out onto the club’s training pitch.

The Japanese star is a huge part of Roberto De Zerbi’s team and having him back would be a huge boost.

Forest have injury problems of their own this weekend.

Taiwo Awoniyi is set to be out for three to four months after Steve Cooper confirmed he had undergone surgery.

Mitoma now back in training for Brighton

This is big news for the Seagulls. They haven’t won in the Premier League for two months and need three points.

After racing out of the blocks they’ve hit the skids in recent weeks.

Having Mitoma back in their squad to travel to the East Midlands would be useful and another player has been spotted too.

In footage released by Fantasy Football Scout, Mitoma has been joined in training by Lewis Dunk too.

The club’s talismanic captain has been absent and the England man returning would be very timely.

Mitoma is the one that Forest are perhaps more wary of facing, however.

He gave Serge Aurier a torrid time with his pace last season and boasts a lot of pace.

The 26-year-old has seven goal contributions this season and now it will be interesting to see if he plays this weekend or not.

Last season, the player was called ‘incredible’ by Jermain Defoe and if he’s not available it would be a boost for Forest.

Forest in for tricky game against Brighton

Despite the struggles in the Premier League for Brighton of late, they’re still a quality team.

Mitoma being absent would be useful but whoever replaced him would likely be desperate to make an impact.

Forest played well in their last home game against Aston Villa and they shouldn’t fear Brighton.

Mitoma could be doing light training and still not feature this weekend.

All eyes and ears will now be on De Zerbi’s press conference to discover the extent of the injury picked up by Mitoma and Dunk.
