Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga has urged the club’s supporters to stick with the team after Saturday’s defeat.

The Reds were beaten 3-2 by Brighton at the City Ground to lose their unbeaten home run this season.

Elanga opened the scoring after just three minutes and he’s taken to Instagram in the aftermath of the defeat.

Elanga urges fans to stick with the team

Some fans are growing increasingly frustrated with a team that appears hellbent on making the same mistakes.

Only Burnley have thrown away more leads than Forest this season and 11 points have now been lost from winning positions.

Forest star Elanga netted his third goal of the season against the Seagulls and his performance was a positive one.

Steve Sutton praised the performance of Forest attacker Elanga on the radio and he was one of the team’s better-performing players.

After the game, he took to Instagram to deliver a seven-word plea to the club’s disgruntled supporters.

He wrote on his Instagram story: “It will get better! Trust the process.”

Elanga is integral to Forest fortunes this season

Steve Cooper identified the need for more athleticism in his squad this summer and boy did he get that with Elanga.

The 21-year-old signed from Manchester United for £15 million and he’s been a breath of fresh air this season.

He’s scored three times and also got three assists to his name, with the player clearly keen to showcase himself as a Premier League player.

Elanga was already aware of the club’s fan base when he signed for the club. He admitted to be stunned by the Forest crowd when he played against them for Manchester United.

Now, he’s getting a lot of love from the supporters and long may his run in front of goal continue.
