Norwich City boss David Wagner has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest striker Hwang Ui-jo.
The talisman has finally settled at Carrow Road and scored his second goal on Saturday.
Norwich defeated QPR 1-0 and the South Korean performer scored after just 21 minutes of the EFL clash.
In truth, it was a pretty drab performance by Norwich with Forest loanee Hwang scoring with the only shot on target the Canaries mustered all game.
Wanger praises Forest striker Hwang
The man who joined Norwich on loan during transfer deadline day has been praised by his manager.
Forest allowed Hwang to leave the City Ground for the 2023/24 campaign after getting their own targets in place.
Wagner was mightily impressed with the matchwinner on Saturday and he’s found time to praise the player.
He discussed Forest loan star Hwang after the game and told the Eastern Daily Press: “He is a very good footballer in terms of his technique, work ethic and game understanding. You make more than 50 appearances for South Korea for a reason.

“He has settled in well and has a better understanding of what we want. It was a difficult international break for some reasons but they are difficult because of the flights and climatic changes, which is why he went off after 60 minutes.
“We’re happy that he scored. We thought the game understanding from him and Barnesy (Ashley Barnes) together would be good for us.”
Hwang can get himself in the shop window with Norwich
This is a very decent loan move for the 31-year-old.
It’s not unfair to say that Hwang is likely to eventually leave Forest without ever featuring in a competitive game for the club.
Given a lack of strikers at the club during pre-season, he featured heavily in pre-season friendly matches.
Hwang scored the game’s only goal as Forest beat Notts County and won praise from Steve Cooper in the process.
His form in those non-competitive fixtures saw him named on the bench for games against Sheffield United and Manchester United in the Premier League.
Now, he’s finally settled at Norwich and he looks good enough to play in the Championship.
If Forest stay in the Premier League this season, Hwang is unlikely to get a chance at the City Ground.
With that in mind, it’s ideal that he’s doing well at Norwich and there he can showcase his ability to potential buyers in the future.
