Internacional now believe they will win the race to sign Gustavo Scarpa from Nottingham Forest in January.

The Reds loaned out the Brazilian player during the summer but he’s not really got going at Olympiacos.

Scarpa signed for Forest in the January transfer window of 2023 but he struggled to really get going at the City Ground.

He made just 10 appearances for the Reds but failed to register a single goal contribution.

Scarpa performed well in the 2-0 win over Leicester last season, with Ian Wright praising him afterwards.

Scarpa now fancied by Internacional

It’s claimed that Internacional are now feeling more confident that they can win the race to sign Scarpa from Forest.

Jorge Nicola has shared on YouTube that the Brazilian outfit are expected to get their man after another offer.

Internacional were thwarted in their last efforts to sign the player but now they have a renewed confidence.

It’s believed that an offer of £3.5 million has been accepted by Forest and Internacional will now just have to thrash out personal terms.

Forest right to sell Scarpa

The 29-year-old was just lacking that little bit of quality when it came to performing in the Premier League.

It’s been claimed for a while that a number of Brazilian clubs were keeping tabs on him but some clubs are out of the race.

According to Vamo Sao Paulo, there is absolutely no chance that they land Scarpa from Forest when the window reopens.

For many clubs in his homeland, the £35,000-a-week wage that he earns has deterred them from pursuing the player.

Forest haven’t really seen the best of Scarpa during his time at the City Ground and selling him now feels like the only option.

The attacker will leave with the best wishes of the Forest fans but things haven’t really worked out for him in Europe.
