Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala has sent an apologetic message to supporters after Saturday’s game against Wolves. The Belgian was once again in fine form as Forest drew 1-1.

Mangala hasn’t apologised for anything that he did in a Forest shirt this weekend. However, he came in for some criticism for wearing a Fulham shirt as he clapped at the away supporters on Wednesday.

Forest lost 5-0 at Craven Cottage on that occasion. As a result, it was deemed pretty poor taste for Mangala to wear the shirt that he’d swapped with a Fulham player.

The 25-year-old has now accepted the error of his ways and owned it. He posted a message on Twitter shortly after the draw with Wolves apologising.

He said: “Got it guys! No shirt this time”. He followed that by posting a prayer emoji; suggesting that he wants forgiveness from the Forest fan base for owning his actions.

Mangala has been an unsung hero in the Forest team this season. He’s quietly gone about his business and right now, he’s considered as one of the first names on the team sheet.

Forest star has nothing to apologise for

Some of the comments that Forest star Mangala was forced to withstand after Wednesday’s defeat went a bit too far. It was an honest mistake and he’s now admitted that he made an error.

Things haven’t been great at Forest recently. Steve Cooper finds himself under a spot of pressure, although yesterday it was claimed that he’s not in immediate danger of the sack.

Naturally that has made the fan base extremely disgruntled. The slightest slip-up has been taken out of context and as Mangala has discovered, things can quickly turn toxic at Forest.

Now that Mangala has owned this Forest mistake, things can move on. The player is going to be important for the Reds this season and with that in mind, he doesn’t really have anything to apologise for.
