Nuno Espirito Santo looks on course to take the Nottingham Forest job and some Willy Boly comments from 2020 are now very interesting.
The 49-year-old looks set to replace Steve Cooper at the City Ground. The head coach’s position has come under scrutiny following five defeats in six games.
Now, Espirito Santo looks like being the man to get the nod. Julen Lopetegui was also on the radar of Forest; whilst Oliver Glasner was also in the mix.
Boly comments on Espirito Santo from 2020 are now interesting
Back in 2020, Forest defender Boly was a mainstay in the team at Wolves. Back then they were playing in European competition and finished seventh in the Premier League.
He was quizzed by Wolves on what Espirito Santo’s management style was like and perhaps Forest fans will be interested to hear the thoughts of their defender now.

Forest star Boly told Wolves’ official YouTube channel about Espirito Santo: “The main thing with Nuno is that he likes to understand us as people as well as football players. For example, we don’t have fines in the dressing room for being late and stuff. He thinks it’s important that we think and understand why we need to be on time for training and for matches.
“I think his management style is based around organisation, the job he does in training all week is very good.”
Boly could thrive again under new Forest boss
This might not be the appointment that Forest fans were hoping for and Cooper leaving will be a tough day for every supporter given what he’s achieved at the City Ground.
However, a run of one win in 13 games has seen Marinakis swing the axe. It has to be said that he’s been patient in the remain with Cooper and he can have few complaints here.
Boly is currently getting regular game time at the Reds. Now, he could take his game to another level, however, with the player having worked for incoming Forest boss Espirito Santo previously.
The 32-year-old has proved a largely decent signing for the Reds. He will fancy his chances of playing even more frequently under the new manager and it seems clear that he values his management style.
