Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has lauded the impact that Anthony Elanga has had this season. The winger signed for Forest from Manchester United for a fee in the region of £15 million.
Elanga is enjoying a fine campaign and Gibbs-White appears to be enjoying player alongside the 21-year-old at Forest. The player who landed from Old Trafford in the summer bagged his fourth goal for the Reds in Saturday’s defeat to Bournemouth.
Gibbs-White looked to be edging back to his best in that game against the Cherries. He was in energetic form as the Reds lost 3-2 in heartbreaking circumstances and the team desperately needs to find a win from somewhere.
Forest star Gibbs-White praises Elanga
The Sweden international has caught the eye at the City Ground this season. He’s scored four goals and registered three assists for the Reds and Forest did well to snare Elanga.
Naturally, he’s still very raw and he perhaps does need to work on consistency with his end product. Gibbs-White is enjoying playing alongside the Forest player, however, and now he’s praised him.

He told Stadium Astro: “He’s been unbelievable since the first day he came in. Obviously coming from United we knew he was going to be talented. But away from the football as well he’s a really nice guy and he’s a really talented player.
“But no, honestly, he’s been absolutely amazing for us. He’s given us that extra bit of pressure going forward with his pace. It’s been really good to have him and hope we can work together and start producing more.”
Gibbs-White and Elanga can help Forest survive
Four goals and three assists from 19 appearances so far is pretty impressive for Elanga at the City Ground. Along with Gibbs-White, the pair are going to be integral for Forest.
Elanga averages a goal contribution over 319 minutes and hopefully, he can get even better under Nuno Espirito Santo who replaced Steve Cooper as the club’s boss last week.
It’s interesting to hear Gibbs-White praise Elanga for his impact in the Forest dressing room. He’s a player who always has a smile on his face and that doesn’t perhaps come as too much of a surprise.
The challenge for Elanga is to keep playing under Espirito Santo and adding even more goal contributions. With Gibbs-White alongside him, the hope will be that Forest can pull clear of the relegation zone very quickly.
