Djed Spence was a star at Nottingham Forest and was a key figure in the club’s promotion to the Premier League, and now he is available. Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided to sell Spence after Leeds United sent him back from his loan spell.

Spence joined Leeds United on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023. The right-back was expected to stay at the Championship club until the summer of 2024.

However, Leeds, who are aiming to win promotion from the Championship, have decided to exercise the break clause and have sent Spence back to his parent club Tottenham, as reported by The Athletic.

Spence made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship during his loan spell at Leeds. The former Nottingham Forest loanee suffered a knee injury in training after making his debut for the Whites in September, as reported by BBC Sport.

Leeds head coach Daniel Farke was clearly not too impressed by Spence after he recovered.

The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham have decided to put Spence up for sale. The North London club paid £20 million for the right-back.

Spence’s career has failed to take off since his heroics for Nottingham Forest back in the 2021-22 season.

The former England Under-21 international was on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough for that campaign.

The right-back was one of the best players for the Reds and was a key figure in the team winning promotion to the Premier League.

During his spell at the City Ground, Spence scored two goals and gave four assists in 42 Championship matches for Forest.

Tottenham signed Spence in the summer of 2022. The right-back could not make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was sent out on loan to Rennes for the second half of last season where he struggled.

And now, Spurs have reportedly decided to sell the right-back after Leeds cut short his loan spell.
