Stan Collymore has given his verdict on speculation linking Nottingham Forest with Roberto Firmino.
The former Forest striker has outlined the reasons why Firmino would not be a good signing for Nuno’s side.
So, what has Stan Collymore said about Nottingham Forest and Roberto Firmino? Let’s take a look.
Stan Collymore comments on Roberto Firmino to Nottingham Forest rumour
Well, Nottingham Forest have been linked with former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
Earlier this week, AS reported that Forest are among the clubs who are interested in signing Firmino in the January transfer window.
TalkSPORT claimed last month that Firmino, who earns £326,000 per week (The Mirror) at Al-Ahli, is frustrated by his team’s system.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli are reportedly willing to send the Brazilian forward out on loan.
Former Forest striker Stan Collymore does not think that Firmino would be a good signing for Nuno’s side.

Collymore wrote in CaughtOffSide: “There have been some rumours recently that several Premier League clubs are interested in bringing Roberto Firmino back to the Premier League.
“ t’s been claimed Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United and Fulham are all interested. I really don’t like the idea of Firmino at either of the former two, but I think Fulham and a possible strike partnership with Raul Jimenez could be a really interesting set-up.
“On their day, Fulham are a good team and I think if they have the chance to sign him, they should because he’d make them even better.
“As for Forest and Sheffield United, although Forest’s owner loves a big name and they’re a more progressive and attractive team, I don’t think either would be the right club for him.
“He’s 32-year-old now — he doesn’t need to be involved in relegation scraps — he isn’t that type of player, so for me, it’s really simple — if he has the choice of the three, he should consider Fulham, especially because he would also have the chance to work with Portuguese speaking manager Marco Silva.”
My View: Roberto Firmino would make Nottingham Forest better
In my opinion, Roberto Firmino would be a good signing for Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window, if the Reds can get him on loan and also convince Al-Ahli cover most of his salary.
There is no way that Forest would be willing to or even afford to pay Firmino’s massive salary.
I personally do not think that a potential deal will happen, but I believe that Firmino would make Forest, who have no plans to sell Morgan Gibbs-White in January, better.
The Brazilian knows the Premier League inside out, can score goals and create chances, Yes, at Liverpool, he was used to challenging and winning major trophies, but Forest are a big club that will aim to push for a top-10 finish in the Premier League table this season under Nuno.
Firmino made 256 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool. The Brazilian forward scored 82 goals and gave 50 assists in those games.
