Blackpool manager Neil Critchley has taken a swipe at Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo after a 2-2 draw at the City Ground yesterday.
The boss was speaking to Sky Sports after the FA Cup third-round tie.
So, what has Critchley said about Espirito Santo after his team held Forest to a draw? Let’s take a closer look…
Blackpool boss takes aim at Forest head coach Espirito Santo
It’s quite an interesting topic of discussion when the FA Cup games come around and everyone wants to discuss the concept of a replay.
Some – mainly Premier League bosses – believe they are unnecessary, whilst for the EFL and non-league clubs they’re a chance to have a second crack at causing an upset.
Espirito Santo seemed somewhat narky after yesterday. His team will now have another game to play and it will impact a scheduled training camp with his squad.
Critchley thinks the Premier League sides need to suck it up and get on with it when it comes to the FA Cup.
He told Sky Sports: “I think it’s such an achievement to cause an upset. So, if you get a second chance to do it we’d rip your hand off for that so yes, I can assure you we’re delighted we’ve got a replay.

“It’s a busy schedule, yes, but so what? Just get on with it!
“Sorry, I think we’ve played, I think today is our 36th game this season. Well, the Premier League teams haven’t played 36 games this season, they get international breaks, and they get time off. We don’t!”
Critchley spot on and Forest have to soldier on
The FA Cup is so brilliant because of the romance that can be created with lower league teams knocking out Premier League outfits.
As a result, Forest would be wise to remember where they’ve come from as it wasn’t so long ago that the Reds were the ones chasing the art of giant-killing.
Espirito Santo can have no complaints yesterday and Critchley will probably feel disappointed that his team haven’t knocked Forest out of the competition.
The Blackpool boss is spot on though. Forest boss Espirito Santo isn’t the only one to whinge about replays this weekend but all Premier League bosses must just get on with things when it comes to the FA Cup.
