Nottingham Forest have been linked with Michy Batshuayi in the past but now the striker could sign for Rangers.

So, what is the situation involving Batshuayi and Rangers – and will Forest make another move? Let’s take a look…

Forest have tried on two occasions to get the Belgian to the City Ground – once in January of last year and again during the summer transfer window.

It’s been claimed previously that Miltos Marinakis is a big fan of Batshuayi and he was instigating a possible deal for Forest.

Now, however, Rangers look set to be making a concrete move to try and sign the striker from Fenerbahce this month.

The Scottish Sun believes that the Glasgow giants are hoping to bolster their attacking arsenal with the addition of the 30-year-old.

It’s not been a bad season for the talisman in truth, with Batshuayi bagging eight goals from 21 appearances in Turkey.

The striker has failed to agree on a new contract with the Turkish outfit and as a result, the Forest-linked Batshuayi could be on his way out.

Marinakis must move for better than Batshuayi

If the player goes to Rangers, it would certainly end this saga from a Forest perspective once and for all.

In our view, Forest must steer clear of a deal for Batshuayi having already been stung with an expensive loan for Divock Origi in the summer.

The player earns £61,000-a-week at Fenerbahce and he’s hardly going to be making another move without taking another sizeable salary.

Forest have to start getting their recruitment right on a more frequent basis.

With that in mind, it would appease Forest fans far more if a younger striker with potential was added rather than Batshuayi on an excessive wage packet.
