Michael Dawson has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest star Murillo following a good start to life at the City Ground.

The Sky Sports pundit was speaking to the Forest Focus podcast.

What Michael Dawson has said about Murillo

Well, it would appear that Dawson feels that Murillo is doing something better at Forest than he did.

The Forest defender made his debut in October against Brentford and he’s been ever-present since.

Dawson believes that Forest star Murillo is showcasing confidence for a young player that defies his tender years.

He told the Forest Focus podcast: “Well he looks a lot more confident than I was at that age and sometimes you get that when you break into a team. For me, it was easy getting there but staying there is the hardest thing.

“I look at Murillo at Forest, he’s still only young coming from Brazil. He’s settled in unbelievably well and I think the way the game is played over here, suits him. I think in the Premier League you do get a little bit more time.

“He’s strong he’s quick, he takes the ball and he can certainly play out of the back. To settle in the way he has, credit to him. He’s slotted in and he’s been consistent.”

Forest defender Murillo is destined for the top

In our view, it’s no surprise that Manchester City wanted to sign Murillo before he chose to join Forest.

He suits a Pep Guardiola system down to the ground and given his passing radar, plenty of top clubs will be keeping an eye on him.

According to Who Scored, no other centre-back in the Premier League has more progressive dribbles this season than Forest gem Murillo.

His passing statistics are good too and given how well Dawson played out from the back it’s no surprise that he’s impressed.

It’s quite scary that Murillo is only 21-years-old and as Forest fans, we hope to enjoy him for a few more years before he inevitably moves to a top club.
