Lyle Taylor joined Wycombe on a short-term deal in October but the man who spent three years at Nottingham Forest has now got himself a new club.

This was confirmed by BBC Sport on Friday.

So, what has Taylor got lined up now as the player who left Forest in the summer tries to prolong his career? We take a closer look…

Taylor signs for Cambridge

Intriguingly, the striker will now link up with another player who perhaps flattered to deceive at Forest during his playing days.

It’s been confirmed by BBC Sport that Taylor has joined Cambridge where he will be managed by Neil Harris.

Taylor, who left Forest in the summer, only made nine appearances for Wycombe during his time at the club, scoring once and claiming one assist.

Now, he’s been handed the chance to remain in League One with Cambridge as they bid to improve their form.

Harris could welcome his input in the dressing room and the player came on for his debut yesterday against Fleetwood.

He made quite the impact too, scoring and assisting as Cambridge claimed a huge three points.

Taylor will be hope to roll back to the years after Forest debacle

The experienced striker spent pretty much all of last season kicking his heels on the sidelines at Forest.

He did score some important goals for the club, however, leaving with eight goals from 61 appearances.

Arguably his greatest moment in a Forest shirt came during a 2-1 win over Bristol City during the promotion-winning campaign.

He scored twice in injury time on that occasion and complemented the team nicely that season under Steve Cooper.

Taylor has made a positive start to life with his new club and he will hope to kick on now and start playing regular football.
