Nottingham Forest speedster could reunite with boss who called him ‘electric’ on international stage

Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga could soon be managed by a manager on the international stage who has raved about him.

This comes courtesy of a report by Fotbollskanalen.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in line for Sweden job

Well, it would appear that Forest star Elanga could soon be reuniting with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sweden are on the lookout for a new head coach after failing to qualify for Euro 2024 this summer.

One man who is on the radar is Solskjaer, according to Fotbollskanalen, with the powers that be wanting a manager who has worked in Sweden.

That could benefit Forest winger Elanga who hasn’t really established himself on the international stage yet.

Solskjaer is a big fan, however, and in 2021, he raved about him, calling him ‘electric’ following a pre-season game against Brentford.

The 21-year-old only actually made three appearances under Solskjaer but it still appears as though he was a big fan.

Now, he could soon be heading off to play under the man who was sacked by Manchester United once again in the near future.

Forest forward Elanga will hope for Sweden boost

Elanga has 13 appearances and three goals for his country to date and for a player of his quality, he will hope for more.

This season at Forest, Elanga has already claimed 10 goal contributions; scoring four goals and claiming six assists.

Doing that in the Premier League should make him a certainty for Sweden but he’s never really been fancied as a starter for his country.

If Solskjaer gets the Sweden gig then surely Elanga will fancy getting a proper run on the international stage if he can maintain his current Forest form.
