Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Jonathan Panzo after he returned to Nottingham Forest.

The transfer guru made his latest claim on X.

So, what has Romano said about Panzo following his return to the City Ground? Let’s take a closer look…

Jonathan Panzo returns to Nottingham Forest

It’s been a frustrating time of things for Panzo at Cardiff during the first half of the campaign.

He checked in alongside fellow Forest player Josh Bowler and was expected to see the season out in Wales.

The 23-year-old has made just five appearances for the club, however, spending 170 minutes on the pitch.

Now, Romano has confirmed that Panzo is back at Forest – although he believes that he will leave again this month.

Last week it was claimed that Vitesse like Panzo and a move to Holland would perhaps appeal to the defender.

Playing football is paramount for the young player and there will also be interest from EFL outfits.

Forest must get defender hooked up elsewhere

With Moussa Niakhate and Willy Boly currently away at the African Cup of Nations, Forest are light at centre-back.

However, it does feel somewhat unlikely that Panzo will receive a chance under Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

If he was going to play in the Premier League he would need to be registered in the 25-man squad and that feels unlikely.

Panzo has proved a bit of a strange signing from a Forest perspective and the club’s promotion has probably robbed him of an opportunity.

The man who was part of Steve Cooper’s team at the under-17 World Cup that England won in 2017 has made just one appearance for Forest.

Things just haven’t worked out for Panzo of late and he will hope that his next club can give him regular football.
