Alan Rogers has lauded Nottingham Forest star Ryan Yates and predicted him for big things under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The former Reds defender was speaking with the Red Side of the Trent podcast.
So, what has Rogers said about Forest midfielder Yates? Let’s take a closer look…
Rogers raves about Forest star Yates
Well, add Rogers to the long list of former Forest players who simply love the academy graduate.
Although Yates can divide opinion his willingness to give everything to the Forest cause can never come into question.
Rogers believes that the 26-year-old could become the main man under Espirito Santo, such has been his importance to the team.

Rogers told the Red Side of the Trent podcast: “I love (Ryan) Yates. He’s the one that seems to me, he’s a bit like Marmite with a lot of the Forest fans but every time I watch him…as a player, playing alongside him and as a manager, he’s an absolute dream.
“Whether he plays good, bad or indifferent, he covers every blade of grass, he’ll tackle everything that moves and he just gives absolutely everything.
“So as a manager, he’s an absolute dream and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s Nuno’s main man in that midfield because he does everything that is asked of him. I’m a massive fan of his and I think the kid is absolutely brilliant.”
Yates could thrive under Espirito Santo
Earlier on in the season, Steve Cooper appeared to settle on Nicolas Dominguez, Ibrahim Sangare and Orel Mangala as the midfield three.
That kept Yates on the Forest bench for a little while but in typical fashion, he didn’t sulk and is now a regular in the team again.
Yates is learning all the time and as the Forest vice-captain, he’s now considered as one of the main leaders within the squad.
Espirito Santo has given every player a clean slate at Forest since he arrived.
Given that he keeps picking him, it would appear that he’s satisfied with the midfielder and it will be interesting to see if he does become the main main in the engine room.
