Robert Earnshaw lauded Ryan Yates after Nottingham Forest overcame Blackpool in the FA Cup last night.
The pundit was speaking to ITV straight after the 3-2 win.
So, what did Earnshaw say about Yates following the win for Forest? Let’s take a closer look…
What Robert Earnshaw said about Forest star Ryan Yates
Well, it was quite a night in the FA Cup – and if you’d have been a neutral you might have felt that was a bit of a modern-day classic.
However, for Forest fans, it was a nerve-wracking night and extra-time was something the Reds really could have done without.
Still, Forest did edge home, however, with Chris Wood scoring with 10 minutes of extra time remaining with Yates setting him up.

Earnshaw believed it was Forest star Yates who deserved the plaudits. The 26-year-old claimed two assists on the night during a decent performance.
The pundit told ITV: “It’s brilliant from Ryan Yates because he’s been in and out of the side but he’s put his hand up and basically said pick me, pick me for Saturday, whatever the game, I’m ready. It was a great performance for him. For the winning goal, it was brilliant, great assist.
Yates shows Nuno Espirito Santo that he wants his shirt
Forest star Yates started the night wearing the captain’s armband and finished it with the Player of the Match accolade.
The two assists he created were exactly what Earnshaw wanted to rave about but there were other good bits of his game.
For example, Sofa Score shows that Yates made 69 accurate passes from 80 attempted, with a pass success of 86% for the Forest man.
He also won four of the six ground duels he contested and won all five of the aerial challenges he went in for.
Yates is by no means the finished article, however, and he will want to work on the statistic that shows that he lost possession 15 times last night.
Still, Yates led by example for Forest last night and at the top end of the pitch, he proved a nuisance for Blackpool to contend with.
