Nottingham Forest have scheduled a new round of talks with Dortmund today to try and squeeze through a deal for Gio Reyna.

This news comes from Fabrizio Romano.

So, what has been said about Reyna and Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

Nottingham Forest in talks with Dortmund for Gio Reyna

Well, it would appear that the Reds aren’t quite over the line with this deal just yet – even if Reyna has agreed to join Forest.

According to Fabrizio Romano, new talks have now been scheduled as Forest and Dortmund plan to thrash out the finer details.

On the agenda there is the loan fee that Forest will pay and the percentage of the player’s salary that will be covered.

Reyna is keen to come to Forest after falling down the pecking order with Dortmund in the wake of Jadon Sancho returning to the club.

At 21-years-old, the versatile forward has a burgeoning reputation and despite his tender years, he’s played plenty of football.

He’s made 120 appearances for the Bundesliga club but could now be on his way to Forest in search of regular football.

Forest will hope for positive round of talks

Reyna is represented by Jorge Mendes and naturally that will make some Forest supporters a little bit sceptical.

However, this should be the sort of signing that everyone can get behind.

Reyna is a talented player and with 33 goal contributions during his time with Dortmund, he should make an impact in the Premier League.

As with any young player, Reyna might need a little time, but he should get plenty of opportunities at Forest.

Forest have Anthony Elanga out injured at the moment and getting Reyna in would certainly help the squad depth.

In our view, this deal is only beneficial for Forest if they insist on a purchase option being included and hopefully, the club can work on that side of the deal.
