Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has delivered an update on when Taiwo Awoniyi could return from injury.

What Espirito Santo has said about Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi
Well, it would appear as though the Nigerian striker is making extremely good progress on the injury front.
Back in November, it was announced that the player required surgery and would be out of action for three months.
Awoniyi has been missed by Forest and the striker will be keen to return and impress new head coach Espirito Santo.
Now, it would appear as though the 26-year-old is on the mend and could be available for selection in the next few weeks.
Espirito Santo told Nottinghamshire Live: “Taiwo is improving. He is already on the pitch on the individual sessions, stronger on the fitness aspect trying to elevate his levels.
“I still think a couple of weeks before he joins the group.”
Forest need integral striker back quickly
Chris Wood has played brilliantly in Awoniyi’s absence but the Forest man can’t do it all on his own.
Having the Nigeria international back available will be massive for the Reds who desperately need Premier League wins.
With Wood in good form, Forest won’t have to rush Awoniyi back before he’s absolutely in tip-top shape.
It’s great to hear that Awoniyi is on the mend and he will be a big player for Forest between now and the end of the season.
Espirito Santo knows that Forest need to go on a little run to avoid relegation and attacking options are in short supply right now.
