Well, it would appear as though Wilson recognises the quality of another defender – and he’s been very complimentary of the defender.
Murillo signed for Forest from Corinthians in the summer, amid interest from Manchester City who also liked Murillo.
Forest will hope to continue nurturing Murillo as he continues to adapt to life in England and the Premier League.
Wilson is a big fan of the player’s qualities and he has been quizzed on the 21-year-old Forest player.
He told the Forest Focus podcast: “He’s a brilliant centre-half. He’s come from Brazil and it’s a completely different culture. He’s got a lot to learn, hell of a lot to learn, he’s shown some great moments at Forest so far and there is still a lot to his game.
“There is a lot of mazy runs that the fans can get on board with but I tell you know, the manager probably won’t want that. But he’s Brazilian and it’s what they’re known for.
“The technical side of defending will come for him. People talk to me about his size and say he’s now very big for a centre-half. Well, Cannavaro wasn’t big and he was one of the world’s best, so that’s nonsense.
“He’s got great feet, he’s good in the air and the key thing is getting games under his belt. He’s probably the shining light so far for me and he’s got to be Forest’s main centre-half.”
Wilson is right about Murillo and he’s going to the top
It’s interesting to hear Wilson, formerly a defender, talk so fondly of Murillo and the quality that he brings to the Forest team.
Naturally, as a young player who is relatively inexperienced, he will make mistakes and fans will have to appreciate that.
The pros firmly outweigh the cons though and the statistics back that up.

His game is about more than defending and his quality on the ball makes him a modern-day central defender.
