Nottingham Forest would like to add RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi to their ranks before the transfer deadline.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano.
So, what has been said about Forest and their interest in Gulacsi? Let’s take a closer look…
Nottingham Forest want Peter Gulacsi
This certainly looks intriguing, with Nuno Espirito Santo now seemingly keen to sign a goalkeeper.
It had been claimed that Forest wouldn’t sign another stopper during the January transfer window.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Forest are now looking at the possibility of signing Gulacsi.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper has only played three games in all competitions this season and will have just a year to run on his deal in the summer.
With 51 caps to his name for Hungary, he’s a well-renowned goalkeeper and it appears Forest are keen to make this move happen.
Romano further claims that Forest are now scouring the market for a new goalkeeper amid some speculation that it wouldn’t be the case this month.
Who is Peter Gulacsi?
The commanding goalkeeper signed for Liverpool in 2008 from MTK in Hungary but struggled for game time at Anfield.
He spent time on loan with Hereford, Tranmere and Hull, failing to make a single appearance for Liverpool.

It was after joining Salzburg that he started to prove his worth, making 100 appearances and catching the eye of RB Leipzig.
Forest-linked Gulacsi has been the number one for a number of years prior to the 2023/24 campaign.
He’s played 287 times in total but Forest will now hope to convince Gulacsi to come to the Premier League this month.
A quick look at some stats courtesy of Squawka shows that Gulacsi makes more saves than Matt Turner – and that bodes well should the Hungarian sign for the club.
Rumour rating: 7/10 – It’s hard to go any higher given that he’s not got any Premier League experience to his name.
Although playing in the Champions League isn’t always the best barometer for judging a player, Gulacsi does have experience in that sense.
Who Scored shows that his main strengths are shot-stopping and concentration.
The goalkeeping situation at Forest is something of a mess and hopefully, a resolution can be sought before the window closes.
