Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna is set to sign for FC Copenhagen to end his time at the City Ground.

So, what is the situation with Forest defender McKenna? Let’s take a closer look…
Scott McKenna to sign for Copenhagen from Nottingham Forest
Well, it would appear as though the centre-back is now set to leave Forest ahead of the transfer deadline.
According to John Percy, McKenna has agreed to join Copenhagen after three-and-a-half years at Forest.
McKenna was instrumental as the club won promotion to the Premier League, playing all but one Championship fixture.
He was named the club’s Player of the Year during the 2021/22 campaign and was also named Man of the Match in the Play-Off Final.
In total, McKenna has played 106 times for Forest, including 25 in the Premier League.
Now, he will head to Copenhagen and next month he could come up against Manchester City in the Champions League.
McKenna’s final Forest appearance came in the closing stages of a 3-2 win over Blackpool in the FA Cup.
McKenna deserves respect from City Ground faithful
But for a contract dispute between the club and McKenna’s agent, the 27-year-old might have featured more often this season.

With McKenna out of contract in the summer, Forest have been left with no choice but to cash in on the player.
It’s a shame that things have come to this but ultimately, Forest are blessed with better defenders than the Scotland star right now.
From a supporters’ perspective, however, McKenna has been everything that should be expected from a Forest player.
He was absolutely brilliant in the Championship and proved an integral player as Forest ended their Premier League exile.
With that in mind, he deserves the utmost respect from the City Ground faithful and should be wished well at his next club.
Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken about working with a smaller squad and McKenna leaving will hopefully be one of many departures in the next few days.
