The vice-president of Galatasaray is now in talks with Nottingham Forest over the signing of Serge Aurier.
This comes from Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
So, what is the ongoing situation with Aurier and will he still be at Forest by the end of the week? Let’s take a closer look…
Galatasaray in talks with Forest over Serge Aurier
Well, it would appear as though Forest could be set to get a boost and cash in on Aurier who has just six months remaining on his deal.
According to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, vice-president Erden Timur is locked in talks with Forest over the availability of the experienced defender.
The defender is currently away with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations.
Last night, he scored during the penalty shootout as the host nation came through on penalties against holders Senegal.

Aurier hasn’t been considered the first choice at right-back during the 2023/24 campaign and Forest may let him leave.
Interestingly, it wouldn’t be the first time that Nuno Espirito Santo has got rid of Aurier with the head coach offloading him from Tottenham too.
Selling Aurier does make sense this month
If Forest can get a small fee for a player who is out of contract in six months then it has to be viewed as decent business.
Aurier has made 12 appearances for Forest this season but hasn’t played since December with a calf strain.
He did recover in time for the African Cup of Nations but at 31-years-old a new contract at Forest won’t be in the offing.
As a result, if Galatasaray are really pushing to sign him this month, Forest would be wise to consider selling him.
Gonzalo Montiel, Neco Williams and Ola Aina can all play at right-back and Forest wouldn’t be left short if Aurier was to depart.
