So, what is now being said about Forest defender Worrall? Let’s take a closer look…

Besiktas want to sign Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall

Well, it would appear as though the Reds could be about to cash in on their captain who isn’t currently in favour.

According to TEAMtalk, Besiktas have now come to the table to negotiate for Forest defender Worrall ahead of the transfer deadline.

Last week, the club captain was linked with a move to Sheffield United and it does feel as though he will leave the club this month.

Worrall has barely played all this season having fallen out with Steve Cooper when he was in place at the City Ground.

The 27-year-old has played for just a single minute in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo.

He came on during the closing stages of a 3-1 win over Newcastle United as Forest fought to see the game out.

Worrall was handed a place in the Forest starting eleven for the FA Cup game against Blackpool but was dropped again for the replay.

Forest have to offload out of favour captain this month

This is a deal that could make a lot of sense and it’s very important that Forest get a deal to sell Worrall over the line this month.

Worrall is miles out of the reckoning and with Moussa Niakhate set to return from the African Cup of Nations, his chances of game time are slim.

At 27, Worrall will fancy his chances of playing regularly elsewhere and after he signed a new deal this season, Forest should command a decent fee.

Besiktas would represent a change in culture for Worrall and it will be interesting to see if this move appeals to him.

In our view, Worrall is definitely one to watch with the deadline looming and a Forest exit looks like a foregone conclusion.
