Nottingham Forest have now agreed a deal to sell Orel Mangala to Lyon ahead of the transfer deadline.
This news comes from Gianluca Di Marzio.
So, what has been said about Mangala as the countdown towards the transfer deadline edges closer? Let’s take a look…
Orel Mangala to leave Nottingham Forest for Lyon
Well, it has to be said that this is hardly out of the blue ahead of deadline day.
For weeks, Mangala has been linked with a move away from Forest and at one stage he agreed personal terms with Napoli.
The Champions League outfit have moved on to other options, however, and now Lyon look to have won the race.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 25-year-old is now on his way out of Forest with a deal agreed between the Reds and Lyon.
Forest are going to make a sizeable profit on a player the club signed for just £12 million in the summer of 2022.

It’s being claimed that Lyon have agreed to a deal worth around £30 million to sign Mangala from Forest.
Will Forest replace outgoing midfielder?
This represents an intriguing question and for a few weeks, it might leave Forest a little bit short in midfield.
Ibrahim Sangare is on African Cup of Nations duty and that leaves Forest with Danilo, Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez to call upon.
It’s not an ideal situation. However, it’s hard to argue that this isn’t a good deal for Forest given the current financial fair-play landscape.
With Fabrizio Romano claiming that Forest want to try and sign a new goalkeeper, it could leave funds a little bit tight.
With that in mind, perhaps a new central midfielder will be off the agenda before the end of the deadline.
Mangala will leave Forest with the best wishes of most. In an ideal world, perhaps the club would have kept him.
Ultimately, it would appear that the player would be keen to move on. As a result, the Reds have to accept the wishes of Mangala.
