Michael Brown has given his verdict on Nottingham Forest’s decision to sign Giovanni Reyna in the January transfer window.

The former Manchester City midfielder and BBC Sport pundit believes that Reyna could prove to be a good addition to the Forest squad.

So, what has Michael Brown said about new Nottingham Forest signing Giovanni Reyna? Let’s take a look.

Giovanni Reyna backed to be a success at Nottingham Forest

Well, Michael Brown has said that Nottingham Forest have made a good signing in Giovanni Reyna.

Forest signed Reyna, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a winger, on loan from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.

Former Manchester City midfielder Brown believes that the 21-year-old USA international will fit in well at Forest under head coach Nuno.

Brown told BBC Sport: “That [Reyna] seems like a good signing even if there is no option to buy.

“It is interesting that he has not been playing for Dortmund for this season because it went so well for him early in his career.

“I think he will fit in well at Forest. They have Morgan Gibbs-White who can fill in where they have brought in youngsters.”

My View: Giovanni Reyna a good back-up to Morgan Gibbs-White

There is speculation that Giovanni Reyna wants to play as a number 10 at Nottingham Forest.

Morgan Gibbs-White is operating as the playmaker-in-chief for Forest at the moment, and I do not think that Nuno is going to change that anytime soon.

However, Reyna is a very good option to have for the Reds. Nuno appreciates his versatility, and we could even see him and Gibbs-White play together.

Reyna made one start and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League and made two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Dortmund this season before his loan move to Forest in the January transfer window.

The USA international scored seven goals and gave two assists in four starts and 18 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and provided two assists in three starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League last season.
