Joe Worrall has now departed Nottingham Forest to sign a short-term loan deal for Besiktas in Turkey until the end of the season.

After his departure, Forest players from past and present have reacted on Instagram.

So, what has been said about Worrall after he departed from Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

Well, it’s been on the cards for a little while and the Forest captain has now departed the City Ground for a new chapter.

The Reds captain has barely played this season, with Worrall playing for a single minute in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo.

It had been claimed that Worrall endured a falling out with Steve Cooper when he was in charge and the writing has been on the wall.

Worrall was Forest’s longest-serving player before his departure and leaves with 226 appearances to his name.

After his departure, he posted on Instagram that he was delighted ahead of the new challenge and received messages from several players.

Taiwo Awoniyi, Harry Toffolo and Neco Williams all posted, whilst Brennan Johnson also congratulated the Forest captain.

Worrall departure best for all parties

This has been some time coming and Worrall will leave with lots of well wishes from players and supporters.

Ultimately, Worrall was the captain when Forest won promotion and he will be fondly remembered for that.

The 27-year-old needs regular football, however, and it looked highly unlikely that he was going to get that any time soon with Forest.

In our view, this move makes a lot of sense from every angle and hopefully, Besiktas will sign the defender permanently in the summer.

Worrall may have thought a new manager would hand him a Forest reprieve. However, it hasn’t worked out and he leaves with a point to prove.
