Michael Brown has claimed that Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner might have made an error for the Bristol City goal in tonight’s first half.

The pundit was speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live.

So, what has Brown said about Forest stopper Turner? Let’s take a closer look…

What Michael Brown said about Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner

Well, this isn’t going to shock anyone but it would appear that Turner hasn’t covered himself in glory once again.

After Divock Origi had opened the scoring, Forest preceded to make life difficult once again by conceding shortly after.

A speculative effort from range needed saving but instead of parrying it wide, Turner managed to let the ball spin back into play.

Jason Knight then prodded home with the midfielder previously of Derby enjoying a laugh at the expense of Forest.

Brown believes that Turner should have perhaps done better in the Forest goal. He said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “It’s a wonderful strike right into the top corner. Matt Turner might be disappointed but that is a brilliant finish.”

Turner can’t keep getting opportunities

With Matz Sels signing for Forest on transfer deadline day and starting against Newcastle, it looks as though this might be Turner’s final appearance for some time.

Even if Forest can edge through tonight, it would be a huge risk to trust Turner between the posts against Manchester United in the next round.

Brown is spot on here and once again it looks as though Turner could have done far better than he actually did.

In truth, this probably wasn’t a glaringly obvious error but a goalkeeper supposedly playing for a team in an elite league shouldn’t be making such an error.

Nuno Espirito Santo is learning about his team with each performance and Forest stopper Turner has to be stripped of these opportunities given a countless number of mistakes.
