Michail Antonio could come up against Nottingham Forest this weekend and he’s praised one of the current members of the squad.
The striker has been speaking on The Player’s Channel podcast.
So, what has Antonio said about his return to Forest this weekend – and which current player is he a fan of? Let’s take a closer look…
Michail Antonio lauds current Nottingham Forest player
Well, it would seem as though Antonio is looking forward to returning to action against Forest at the weekend.
No player has scored more goals for West Ham in the Premier League era but he’s been out injured since facing Forest in November.
Now, he looks ready to return to action and could be in the squad when the Hammers travel to the City Ground on Saturday.
Ahead of the game, Antonio has been speaking about his time at Forest – and it’s clear that he holds fond memories from his time at the club and has praised a current player.

He told The Player’s Channel podcast: “I’m looking forward to it. I like going back there. I had a great year there. You saw my clops on Monday Night Football. I even got the clips sent to my Instagram but the EFL might not allow me to do it. Let’s see what they say when I put it up.
“But to be fair, I am looking forward to it. They have been doing alright the last couple of weeks. Anthony Elanga has been in good form for them.”
Antonio was incredible during City Ground spell
Forest only spent £2 million on Antonio when they landed him from Sheffield Wednesday and it was clear from the off that he would star.
In 54 appearances for Forest, he bagged 19 goals and claimed 15 assists for the club, showcasing serious trickery.
It’s interesting that Antonio has praised Forest star Elanga ahead of this weekend’s game.
Out of every Forest player in the current squad, it’s fair to say that the 21-year-old is probably the most similar to Antonio when he was at the City Ground.
Hopefully, it’s the current Forest man who is smiling this Saturday with Forest absolutely desperate for all three points.
